SCVFA Annual Party

The St Croix Valley Food Alliance invites you to our second annual community party!

Come join us for a night of food, fun, and community at the Acreage at Osceola where we will celebrate an incredible year in local food. We’ll have amazing farm fresh food to share, live music on the lawn, a silent auction, kids activities and more! There will be a short program where we will hear from Kristy Allen, Chair of the SCVFA, with updates on the incredible coalition of local farmers, producers, consumers and businesses that the Food Alliance is supporting. We’ll also hear from Dan Guenthner of Common Harvest Farm who will speak about his 30+ years of experience as a farmer in Osceola and his perspective on how climate change is impacting local food.

PoP Club

PoP Club is an incentive program for children to get them involved with Farmers’ Markets, to increase family participation and build healthy communities.

Beginning mid June and running through mid September ~ children ages 4-15 are welcome and encouraged to join the PoP Club. Registration and check-in will be located at 4 Polk County Farmers’  Markets  ~ Amery, Balsam Lake, Osceola and St. Croix Falls.
After signing up, participants will be given $4 in tokens to spend on fresh fruits and vegetables, or food processing plants. There are also activities and / or prizes.
There is a coordinator for each of the 4 PoP Club locations.  Volunteers are needed to assist the Coordinator with set up, registration, explanation of the program, encourage kids to try new fruits and vegetables, etc.   This is a great program – FUN – and a wonderful opportunity to meet local growers and help kids and families eat more fresh fruits and vegetables ! Sign-up to help at any of the 4 Farmers’ Market locations.

Thank you for helping young eaters get curious and excited about trying fruits and vegetables this summer!
PoP Club is funded and supported through a collaboration of Polk County Health Department Drug-Free Communities, Polk United, FoodWise, St. Croix Valley Food Bank, St. Croix Valley Food Alliance,  Osceola Medical Center, Amery Medical Center and St. Croix Health.

Check the calendar for activities at local farmers markets and farms.
