On March 10, 2024, members of the SCVFA came together for a full day of strategic planning at  Community Homestead in Osceola, WI. In addition to SCVFA’s Board of Directors, participants  included 35+ local farmers, activists, environmental non-profit workers, retired farmers, food  service workers (food coops and catering), and other community members—approximately 45  people in all. Consistent with the SCVFA’s community-oriented ethos, the event performed an  organizing function as well as generated the data necessary for an inclusive strategic plan. The  group reviewed accomplishments of the Alliance’s first two years, conducted a “SLOT”  (Strengths, Limitations, Opportunities, and Threats) analysis, and brainstormed future goals,  building on the SCVFA’s ongoing strategic ends.
